Electronic Cigarettes And The Plane Ride Home

We recently went on a trip to the big apple " New York City." I was unsure if I was able to use my electronic cigarette on the plane so I left it in my suitcase just in case. Funny thing was we boarded the plane and a gentlemen in the first class section drew some attention from not only me but the flight attendant as well. He was reading a magazine for the first ten minutes of the flight and then he pulls out which looks to be a cigarette to any non suspecting eyes but I knew it was an electronic cigarette.

The guy had a cool looking electronic cigarette carry case the held all of his electronic cigarette refills and cartridges. He screwed in the electronic cigarette refill to the top of the electronic cigarette pen. This was the top of his cigarette which held the nicotine in it which he inhaled. He just gave a couple of puffs on the electronic cigarette and a small cloud of vapor went around his head and as soon as it did the flight attendant ran right over to him and said " Sir you can't smoke on a plane because it is a fire hazard!"

But the man told her it was an electronic cigarette and there was no smoke and he gave her an example. I have never seen a such a look of confusion coming from anyone like that in my life. You could see the mental fight going on in her head asking herself if she should let this guy use it on the plane or not but maybe she should because it really isn't a fire hazard because you don't use a lighter to light it up.

The flight attendant asked the person sitting next to the gentleman if she would mind him smoking the electronic cigarette next to her and her reply was " I didn't even know he was smoking because I didn't smell a thing." Needless to say everyone in first class was wondering what this thing was and kept on looking at the gentleman smoking the electronic cigarette like he was some sort of mystical creature that they have never seen before. That was a great way to keep myself occupied for an hour and a half plane ride home to Miami Florida.
