I find it extremely funny and coincidental about some news that I heard about the electronic cigarette. The FDA seems to have had a conference call with a couple electronic cigarette manufacturers determining whether or not electronic cigarettes should be banned or should be researched more to be regulated. Here is what the FDA is coming up with as their views on the electronic cigarettes.

They came to the conclusion that some "not all" electronic cigarettes have had traces of Diethylene glycol (DEG). Which is the same ingredient in anti freeze. Now has not been found in all electronic cigarettes but on a couple test samples it was found.

Electronic Cigarette

Next, they are coming up with the excuse that the electronic cigarettes are being marketed to children because they have bubble gum, chocolate, and vanilla flavor electronic cigarette refills. I don't know where a child is going to get $150.00 for an electronic cigarette starter kit than have to save more money to purchase more electronic refills.

Even if the electronic cigarettes do have Diethylene glycol (DEG), they still have no where near the amount of carcinogens that regular tobacco cigarettes have. I mean think about it. You could smoke a tobacco cigarette and inhale over 4,000 different poisons and chemicals.

What the real problem here revolves around money. If the FDA were able to place a hefty tax on the electronic cigarettes then I bet these electronic cigarette issues would be put to rest and would be approved in a heartbeat but since they have no control over it and can't make a cut for themselves they wont approve it.

Think about it. Tobacco cigarettes kill millions of people a year, but you can pretty much keep buying them anywhere as long as you are over 18 years of age.

There are proven facts that state there are over 4,000 carcinogens and chemicals, rat poison, pesticides in tobacco cigarettes, yet they are able to be sold like hot cakes. Ohh thats right, there is that extra $1.00 tax that was recently applied to each pack of cigarette. Kind of makes you think doesn't it?

Well, everyone has their own opinions about the electronic cigarette and each and every opinion should be respected. This is my opinion about the electronic cigarette and some of the facts that I have been reading. I have been using the electronic cigarette for about 3 months now and I don't smoke regular cigarettes any more to which I am greatful.

Hopefully these electronic cigarette manufacturers will come into an agreement with the FDA so that less deaths from cancer will occur each year and help people kick the smoking habit but that may take some time because the electronic cigarettes are still catching some heat.
